Safety standards by Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA) and the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).

To reduce the risk of injury and accidents, the Council wants operators of zipline and similar activities to strictly follow international safety standards. But during the public hearing of the proposed measure last Wednesday, the consultant for safety and security standards, urged the Council to pattern the provisions of the ordinance after international safety standards instead of making its own.

These safety standards include those that have been set by the Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA) and the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).The international safety standards set by PRCA and ACCT, Cole said, focuses more on the strength standard of ziplines and the quality of materials and equipment, among others.
