New Ropes Course construction in Jacksonville.
The town will have its first High Adventure Ropes Course by the end of March. Building high adventure courses is a new trend on college campuses. The ropes course will feature the State’s longest zipline, which will cross the lake and drop off on the island in the middle of the wildlife sanctuary. The ropes course will have a multitude of activities and challenges that will test physical and mental abilities. The course will teach students about teamwork, trust, communication, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills, while providing outdoor fun in the Wildlife Sanctuary. Particularized courses, such as ones concentrating on wildlife and conservation, will be offered at UNF that will permit the students special access to the ropes course. Since the ropes course rises above the tree canopy, the students will have a visual understanding of nature and wildlife.
