Zip line course construction nears opening day.
The 600-foot zip lines that have been installed on the Pavilion lot were being tested Tuesday, and final work is being completed to get the Adrenaline Adventures course open by mid-April. The free-fall tower, a 50-foot drop that reportedly sets participants down gently on a large rubber mat, is also being tested, and will be joined by a second, identical tower before the complex opens.
We’ve started training our guides, testing the lines and testing the free-fall tower,” according to Adrenaline Adventures. “We’ve got the lines to where they are smokin’ fast.” Actually, how fast a rider goes depends on weather, wind and weight. The weight limit will be set at 275 pounds, although the lines have been tested by someone who weighs more than 300 pounds, “We have tested them with various weights, because we have to make sure everything is perfect." In the coming two weeks, crews will finish up landscaping, painting and all the other final construction elements, including making sure all the nuts and bolts are tight.
