Plans to build worlds longest zip wire attraction.

THE world’s longest zip wire may be coming to South Gwynedd. Plans have been revealed to build a two mile zip wire in Llechwedd quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog, creating up to 20 jobs. The £500,000 attraction, which is subject to planning permission, would include four zip lines, with one stretching from the quarry in to the town.A topographical survey is set to be drawn up before the proposals go before Gwynedd planners.

If successful it is understood work could begin on the brownfield site next year. The project would also tie in with a multi-million pound scheme to build four downhill mountain biking tracks in the quarry. The attractions could bring in tens of thousands of visitors to the site, say applicants.
