Proper care and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and safety of your Edelrid Smart Belay system. Daily, weekly, and monthly inspections keep your units in top condition, but an annual comprehensive service is essential. Each year, your Smart Belay is fully disassembled, cleaned, and any worn or damaged parts are replaced before being returned in refurbished condition. This process also helps identify improper use, enabling corrective action to prevent future issues.

Every Smart Belay includes a two-year warranty from the date of purchase, provided the required annual service is performed after the first year. The warranty does not cover misuse, damage, or excessive wear from improper handling. Any component replaced under warranty receives a new warranty, ensuring ongoing protection. Regular annual servicing is as vital as routine maintenance on a vehicle, safeguarding your investment and extending its lifespan.

Annual recertification is not only a best practice but also a safeguard against liability for system failures. The Smart Belay’s strong safety record is supported by these yearly services, which include a full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) inspection in line with industry standards. Our Service Center ensures fast turnaround times and strict quality control, minimizing downtime. To avoid seasonal backlogs, we recommend sending your units for service immediately after your peak season.

Repairs & PPE Inspection

We handle all necessary repairs for Smart Belays, regardless of whether they have had the annual inspection. Costs depend on the unit’s condition and required parts and labor. To initiate a repair, email us a description of the issue and confirm acceptance of the basic inspection, reassembly, and shipping fee, even if you decline further repairs.

Our team is fully certified to perform all PPE inspections in accordance with current standards. Typically, equipment is sent to our facility, though on-site inspections are available for an additional fee. After inspection, you’ll receive a report and certification for passing units; failed equipment is returned with a detailed report, and repairs may be possible depending on the manufacturer. Note that, except for Edelrid Smart Belays, we do not repair or replace parts for other brands.

During mandatory park inspections, ensure the examiner is familiar with Smart Belay and only certifies the external PPE components. Unauthorized opening of a Smart Belay voids the warranty and manufacturer liability. Always rely on certified professionals for inspection and servicing to protect your equipment and your business.

The "Green" Lifeline Anchoring Device. ECO-friendly technology.

One of the "green" technical solutions developed by Skywalker is our "tree-friendly" lifeline anchor device (tree mounting / tree strapping system) for forest high wire ropes courses which has been adopted by climbing park designers all over Europe. This eco-friendly lifeline anchoring device is based on a set of specially designed brackets which, unlike conventional methods using multi-layer steel cable coils, can be continuously adjusted to the ongoing growth pattern of any tree that is part of the course supporting structure.
