High-Altitude Thrills

The Skywalk Challenge and Free Fall

Castlecomer Discovery Park’s brand-new Aerial Adventure Course, the Skywalk Challenge, has received overwhelmingly positive feedback since its February launch. This thrilling high ropes course features 40 dynamic games spread across three levels. At the apex of the structure, participants can brave the Free Fall feature. Securely attached to our free-fall device systems, visitors take a daring leap from the top of the tower, simulating the heart-racing sensation of weightlessness before a gentle, controlled descent.

Complementing the primary tower is the Octagon High Ropes Course, a two-level challenge set on a striking octagonal frame equipped with nets, ropes, and wooden bridges. To cap off the adrenaline experience, the park boasts Ireland’s longest zip line. Stretching 300 meters and soaring 35 meters above the ground, it sends riders flying over stunning woodlands, twin lakes, and a hand-restored 17th-century bridge.

Youth Exploration

Low Ropes Course and Park Upgrade

In contrast to the towering Skywalk, the newly unveiled kids ropes course is thoughtfully tailored for children aged 3 to 7. The design focuses on age-appropriate challenges that encourage physical and cognitive growth in a playful, highly secure setting. This ensures that younger visitors have an engaging and unforgettable adventure scaled directly to their abilities.

The successful completion of both courses highlights an ongoing collaboration between park management and Skywalker Adventure Builders. Recognizing the need for a major infrastructure upgrade in 2020, the partnership initially expanded the low ropes course in 2021. This was followed by the complete replacement of the park's outdated legacy Tree Top Walk with the state-of-the-art Skywalk Challenge, significantly boosting Castlecomer's appeal to regional tourists and directly benefiting the local community.
