We recently completed a new ropes course in the picturesque Castlecomer, Ireland. This successful project offers an exhilarating blend of adventure amidst nature. Designed with an appreciation for Castlecomer's stunning environment, the course's layout maximizes the breathtaking views, immersing climbers in a world of ancient trees and scenic landscapes.

The local community in Castlecomer extended exceptional hospitality during the construction phase, embodying the warm and friendly nature Ireland is famous for. This welcoming atmosphere greatly enhanced our experience in this delightful village.

This ropes course not only boosts Castlecomer's appeal to tourists but also opens doors for both adventurous travelers and locals. It attracts a diverse range of visitors, all eager to experience its unique fusion of adventure and natural beauty.

The addition of the highropes course has significantly benefited the local community and brought a new level of excitement to Ireland's already stunning landscapes. It's a destination where people challenge themselves and revel in the beauty of this Irish gem.

Kathy Purcell General Manager on the project: In 2020, I took on the role of Manager at Castlecomer Discovery Park in Kilkenny, Ireland. Initially seeking advice on maintaining our ropes courses, Skywalker Adventure Builders came highly recommended. They visited our park, generously offering their time and expertise, and even helped us source and ship necessary materials. So, when it was time to upgrade our park, Skywalker was our first choice.

Our initial collaboration in 2021 involved expanding our low ropes course. The Skywalker team made the process smooth, designing an engaging and challenging course for kids. Most of the construction was done in the Netherlands, with the final assembly of poles and groundwork efficiently planned. The outcome was fantastic, as you can see here: YouTube link.

Our next venture was to replace our outdated Tree Top Walk. Skywalker's team worked closely with us to design a course tailored to our needs. The construction was smooth, timely, and within budget, without any complications.

Now named The Skywalk Challenge, this project has been a hit with the public, receiving rave reviews for its innovative design. We wholeheartedly recommend Skywalker for any project. Their team is a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to future collaborations. Castlecomer Discovery Park offers zipline, tree-top walk, climbing wall, Octagon, boats, archery, trails, group activities.

New Adventures Await, Castlecomer Discovery Park has a brand new Aerial Adventure Course, The Skywalk Challenge! Recently launched, visitor feedback has been glowing since it opened this February. This exciting aerial adventure course has 40 games over three levels. This is a must-do for any fun loving visitors! Our Free Fall feature is set at the top of the Skywalk Challenge, a height that sets hearts racing. In this exhilarating experience, participants are attached to our Free Fall system and take a daring leap from the top of the Skywalk tower, experiencing the sensation of weightlessness, a moment of free falling, to then slowly being lowered to the ground by our system. The Free Fall promises to provide an unforgettable experience.

Castlecomer Discovery Park is home to Ireland’s longest zip line. It is 300 metres long and 35 metres over the ground at its highest point. Visitors zip over our stunning woodland, two lakes and 17th-century hand-restored bridge. The exhilarating zipline is accompanied by the Octagon High Ropes Course. Set on an octagonal frame over two levels, the Octagon is a two-level course that presents a series of challenges in the form of nets, ropes, wooden bridges etc.
