Safety is the foundation of every park we build

We will not compromise or take shortcuts when it comes to protecting your visitors. Every Skywalker park is designed, constructed, commissioned, and maintained against the highest European and national safety standards — without exception.

Safety is not a checkbox at the end of a project. It is an engineering discipline built into every phase: from the first site survey to the annual inspection years after opening.

Safety is engineered in — not added at the end

The safety of a Skywalker park begins before a single pole is placed in the ground. During the Design & Engineering phase, all technical documentation and construction plans are assessed by an independent inspection body — typically TÜV or an equivalent accredited authority — before any build work commences.

No park opens to the public without first passing a formal Site Acceptance Test (SAT) conducted by an accredited, independent technical testing and certification body, in accordance with EN 15567-1 and NEN EN 12572. Independent certification also enables operators to obtain more competitive commercial insurance terms.

Operational safety starts with your team

The safest park in the world is only as safe as the people operating it. At commissioning, Skywalker provides ERCA-standard training for all management and operational staff, in compliance with EN 15567-2. This is followed by on-site support and structured refresher courses throughout the operating life of the park.

Our Training & Education syllabus covers every operational role — from new park instructor to senior inspector — and is built around demonstrable practical competency, not just classroom theory. Each qualification level requires both theoretical knowledge and a defined extent of practical experience before certification.

At Skywalker, quality is not limited to the materials used or the assembly process chosen. It is an intrinsic property woven into every aspect of our work — from the initial design brief to the long-term lifecycle of your park.

Together with independent certification bodies including TÜV — one of Europe's leading testing and certification organisations — Skywalker has developed proprietary software for mechanical load-stress and strength calculations in adventure parks.

Our CAD design system is directly linked to a database containing the specifications of every Skywalker project delivered over the past two decades. These records include the structural strength of different wood types and composite materials, varying soil configurations, and local climatic conditions across multiple regions.

These parameters are combined with data gathered during your specific site assessment to produce the construction statics — a mandatory part of the technical documentation package required by any independent certification authority before a park may open.

We use only natural and environmentally safe construction materials, and strive to maintain the overall design as close to natural forms and shapes as possible. Tree trunks are round — so our platforms reflect that principle. This design ethic is not merely aesthetic: it directly supports the long-term commercial success of your facility by offering guests a memorable experience rather than a fleeting visit.

We are committed to keeping our environmental impact to an absolute minimum — from installation methods that avoid damage to trees and the surrounding landscape, to design principles that allow the park to blend into its environment as naturally as if it had never been built.

Every project begins with a thorough site assessment — evaluating terrain, vegetation, soil conditions, and infrastructure. Our goal is to identify any constraints before a single post is sunk.

If a location does not meet the standards required for a sustainable, high-quality adventure park, we will tell you promptly — and advise against proceeding. On this point, we make no concessions. Not only because we are committed to delivering quality, but because any park's long-term success depends on operational efficiency at low ongoing cost.

Environmental protection at every stage

Skywalker recommends a minimum site area of 1.5 hectares for any forest climbing park. This threshold is not arbitrary: smaller sites frequently require substantial tree removal or land clearance to achieve the required route density — degrading the very environment that makes the guest experience valuable.

Our goal is to minimise impact on local flora and fauna so that, once built, a Skywalker park maintains the forest's appearance and ecological health as closely as possible to its natural state. This careful integration is as important to long-term guest satisfaction as the activities themselves.
